Primary
I Am a Child of God
Purpose
The Primary organization serves children ages 3 through 11. Primary helps children learn the gospel of Jesus Christ, feel the influence of the Holy Ghost, and prepare to make and keep sacred covenants. Through lessons, music, and activities, children develop a foundation of faith that will bless them throughout their lives.
What We Do
- Sunday Classes: Children attend age-appropriate classes each Sunday where they learn gospel principles through engaging lessons, stories, and activities.
- Singing Time: Children gather for singing time where they learn hymns and Primary songs that teach gospel truths and bring the Spirit.
- Children and Youth Program: Children ages 8-11 participate in the Children and Youth program, setting personal goals in spiritual, social, physical, and intellectual areas.
- Activity Days: Regular activities provide opportunities for children to have fun, build friendships, and learn new skills in a gospel-centered environment.
- Annual Programs: Special events such as the Primary program in sacrament meeting give children the opportunity to share what they have learned with the entire congregation.
Who Can Participate
All children ages 3 through 11 are welcome to attend Primary. Children who turn 12 during the year transition to Young Men or Young Women organizations. All children are welcome regardless of membership status.
